Preparation

Organ Prelude
Litany to the Holy Spirit: Come, Holy Ghost, our souls inspire

1 Come, Holy Ghost, our souls inspire
and lighten with celestial fire;
thou the anointing Spirit art,
who dost thy sevenfold gifts impart.

2 Thy blessed unction from above
is comfort, life, and fire of love;
enable with perpetual light
the dullness of our mortal sight.

3 Anoint and cheer our soilèd face
with the abundance of thy grace:
keep far our foes, give peace at home;
where thou art guide no ill can come.

4 Teach us to know the Father, Son,
and thee, of both, to be but one;
that through the ages all along
this may be our endless song:

 Praise to thine eternal merit,
 Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
 Amen.

Opening

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Collect for Purity

Almighty God,
to whom all hearts are open,
all desires known,
and from whom no secrets are hidden:
cleanse the thoughts of our hearts
by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit,
that we may perfectly love you,
and worthily magnify your holy name;
through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Collect

O God, who on the day of Pentecost
enlightened the hearts of your people
by the fire of the Holy Spirit:
give us wisdom and understanding,
and lead us into all truth,
that your Church may be kept
in the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace;
through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you,
in the unity of the same Spirit,
one God, world without end. Amen.

The Liturgy of the Word

The Liturgy of the Sacrament

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Do not bring us to the time of trial
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power
and the glory are yours,
now and for ever.  Amen.

Thanksgiving and Sending Out

A Blessing is pronounced:

The peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep our hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord; and may the blessing of God almighty, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, be among us and remain with us always. Amen.

Go in peace to love and serve the Lord, alleluia, alleluia.

In the name of Christ, alleluia, alleluia.
